iTunes will release a digital holiday EP featuring I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Blue Christmas. The version of Blue Christmas will also be featured in the Rock Band video game. The release will be available starting December 23 and will also include older songs that were recently re-recorded.

Also included are interviews with Chrissie in which she discusses the origins of the band’s tracks.

The tracklist for The Pretenders iTunes Originals is: Almost Perfect, Don't Cut Your Hair, Love's A Mystery (LP Version), My City Was Gone, One Thing Never Changed, Rosalee, Talk Of The Town, Tequila, Thumbelina.

According to Malcolm Abram of the Akron Beacon Journal, Chrissie will join Devo and The Black Keys at the benefit for the Summit Country Democratic Party. The show is tonight at the Civic Theater. Limited tickets are still available.

The Pretender's Lillywhite Session on World Cafe will be broadcast on Thursday, November 6, 2008.

National Public Radio’s World Cafe with host David Dye can be heard on nearly 200 stations nationwide. Fans can find their local station by scrolling to the bottom & choosing their state under "Find a Program Broadcast Time" at the following link:

In addition to Chrissie, Martin, James and Nick at the show in London, there will also be a pedal steel guitar player named Eric Heywood. He played on the forthcoming album.

The new album, Break Up The Concrete, is scheduled for release in the US at the end of September on vinyl and then on CD in October. It's going to be on Shangri-La Music. There is no release date for other countries yet.

Chrissie is going to be hosting Jonesy's Jukebox in Los Angeles with Rosanna Arquette on July 16. The show is from noon to 2:00 PM, west coast time. You can listen online - . The show will be rebroadcast at 6:00 PM. If you miss it altogether, the shows are archived on their site. Also on is a short interview with Chrissie and a new Pretenders song called "Boots of Chinese Plastic". The line up for the show at Koko will be Chrissie on vocals and guitar, Martin on drums, Nick Wilkinson on bass guitar and James Walbourne on lead guitar. They will be playing several new songs from their forthcoming album along with some Pretenders classics.

On May 11, Chrissie performed at ‘The Ambition Ball’, a fundraiser for the Arsenal Football Club's Charity of the Season, TreeHouse.

Chrissie also performed the next night at OrangAid (photos), which took place at the Lyceum Theatre in London. OrangAid benefits the Sumatran Orangutan Society. For more info about them, click here.

Gideon Coe will be playing some live tracks from the Pretenders 1979 Paris theatre concert this Wednesday (January 16) on 6Music.

The band started recording for the new album in September, however, producer Ethan Johns had another project he was committed to so everything's on hold right now. They should be back in the studio around the end of April.

Finally, the January issue of Akron Life & Leisure magazine has a short (two page) interview with Chrissie.
